Family Reading Night

On Wednesday 2/21, Dorn held one of their favorite family events; family reading night! At this incredible event, families are invited to visit three classrooms to hear a story and complete a related activity, which Dorn staff members generously volunteer their time to facilitate. This year's family read night was winter-themed (although you wouldn't have known it from the beautiful weather!) Station options included The Mitten, The Story of Snow, The Snowy Day, There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow, The Snowman, Snowballs, Snow Globe Family, and Snowmen at Work. Families could also visit the gym for Ice Skating Freeze Dance/Races with Mrs. Lowe, grab a hot chocolate from Stagg volunteers, and hear about events at our local Green Hills Public Library from library representatives. At the end of the night there were some incredible winter-themed prize bundles raffled off! It was, as always, a fun-filled event that helped promote literacy for our district's youngest learners and their families. Thank you to all who attended and we hope you enjoyed it!
