Our Kindergarten ELA Bilingual Arabic teacher is back for her second year in District 117 and her first year at Dorn! Fueled by a passion for helping others feel confident and capable, she loves watching her youngest learners grow step-by-step. When she isn't making a positive impact in the classroom, you’ll find her traveling to new places and making memories with her family.
Ms. Kielbowicz - Speech and Language Pathologist
We are so excited to officially welcome our new Speech-Language Pathologist, who is working with both our Kindergarten and First Grade students. Her heart for speech therapy was inspired by her younger brother, who has 5p- Syndrome. Beyond helping our Dorn Eagles find their voices, she’s taking on an amazing personal challenge: running the Chicago Marathon to support Misericordia and empower individuals with developmental disabilities.
Mrs. Valentine - PE Teacher
A very familiar face is stepping into an exciting new role! After 24 wonderful years in the district, including 17 years teaching 1st grade right here at Dorn and 7 years teaching 2nd grade at Glen Oaks. Our new PE teacher is thrilled to be back home at Dorn. Inspired to teach by legendary mentors like retired educator Marilyn Marino, she’s ready to keep our kids active and moving. Fun trivia: she’s a huge sports fan who has personally met Bears legend Brian Urlacher and owner Mr. McCaskey!
Mrs. Janda - Health Clerk
Our new health clerk is here to keep our students healthy, happy, and safe every day. Mrs. Janda works closely with staff and parents to care for our Dorn school community.
